What is it like where you are at? Here in Texas we continue to make strides towards putting things back like they were pre-COVID. May is especially exciting because we will be returning to two hour church. It will still look a little different. For example, nursery will not be open. It is sad, but smart because is impossible to help nursery kids keep social distance and not share germs, right? While two hour church without nursery sounds especially hard, I am so looking forward to being back to the weekly schedule and giving up at least some of the virtual meetings.
If two hour church without nursery is ahead for you too and you have nursery aged kids at home, are you freaking out how your child will behave? Let’s just all stop and agree to take our cuties to class. Let’s just agree to let them be their normal rowdy little selves. Everyone will understand, but in the off chance that they don’t, let’s be confident and take our little ones to class anyway. We all can use more practice with loving and acceptance, right?
I am keeping some of the positive COVID changes forever though. Increased learning in the home is one of those changes. I am grateful for and recognize the importance of teaching in my home. I love watching my family learn and grow. During May for Come Follow Me I am teaching my family:
- God has given us each spiritual gifts to bless one another.
- Things that are light and bring us peace and happiness are of God. Things that make us feel scared and unhappy are darkness and not of God.
- Heavenly Father wants us to be honest.
- We have the power to choose to do good even when things are hard.
- I can open my mouth to tell others about Jesus.
