Waking up and reading aloud a personal I AM statement begins your day with purpose and power.
A couple years ago I was struggling to connect with one of my children. I prayed daily to love this child as the Savior does but was having a hard time understanding the feelings and attitude of this child. A mom friend of mine offered a mommy bootcamp course to help rejuvenate moms and guide us in connecting with our children. One of the things I learned about was the power of positive statements. I left the course lit up to become a more intentional mom.
An intentional mom knows her purpose, priorities, and limits. She has a plan and a vision.
It took me a few weeks of pondering and jotting ideas to finalize my current I AM statement. But now that I have it, it’s typed and push pinned to my wall where I can read it each morning when I wake up. Reading this simple statement takes me one quiet minute, but it completely transforms my day.
An I AM statement reminds me of who I truly am, what I am capable of, and what is most important.
I encourage you to make one too! Make a list of statements that you want to be true in your life and see them come to fruition. This will help your mind and body to make your dreams come true and to help you live the life you really want!
Questions to ask yourself as you ponder your personal I AM Statement: Who am I? Who do I want to be? How do I want to handle challenges? How do I want to feel about my finances? What kind of mom do I want to be? What do I know about my divine mission in earth? What kind of wife do I want to be? How does Christ feel about me? What does Heavenly Father know I am capable of?
The beauty of creating an I AM statement is you get to shift your mindset to overcome your limiting beliefs and speak truths about yourself. Remember, your statements do not have to be 100% true right now. By stating your goals in a positive, action-taking sentence, you are helping the things you want to be true actually start to happen.
Begin each positive statement with words such as “I am,” “I can,” “I will,” “My purpose,” “My goal.”
Here is my personal daily I Am Statement. I have included statements that hit my heart as truth each time I read them. They inspire me to be my best self. Not every sentence is happening in my life each day yet, but as I read my statements and remind myself of my goals, I am getting closer to being the person I know I can be.
I bring magic and joy and encouragement to the lives of my children each day.
I let my children know they are cherished, important, priceless, and loved.
God gave me my children because I can help them be who God needs them to be.
Heaven is here to help me.
I will never do anything more worthwhile in my life than be a mom.
I create a positive, happy culture in our home. Our home is a holy, safe place.
I study the scriptures daily for strength.
I am a conduit of light to Christ guiding people to Him.
I take take time to listen to my family.
I am a present, intentional, happy person.
My purpose on earth is to have experiences and return to Heavenly Father.
My #1 goal is to bring my family unto Christ. I am an example of Christ today. I talk about Jesus in our home.
In the battle of life, I choose Jesus.
I use my words with grace.
I am amazing with my 24 hours to keep my home clean, family fed, and get a healthy rest.
Family dinner is the highlight of our day.
We have morning and evening family prayer.
I show by example what is most important in life.
I am a key financial player in our marriage team. I can keep a budget.
I was sent here to change the world.
Let’s do this!
We are making a difference in the lives of our children each day. Starting your morning with an I AM statement will help guide you in your intentional mothering.
