President Nelson has encouraged us to do what we can to prepare in advance for general conference this April. One of the ways he suggested we prepare was by studying the first vision.
We do not for a second think that he only meant for the grownups to prepare. He wants us ALL to prepare. Since we have a great lesson in our preschool curriculum about the first vision we decided to share that with you for free so that you can help your little one prepare too!
This post will likely be removed after general conference so make sure that you download it now.
About our lessons
Our lessons are designed to teach important preschool skills AND gospel topics. If you are not familiar with our curriculum, you will find that we have designed the lessons to be taught over two days, but they can be broken apart and taught across the whole week if that meets your needs better. We have a weekly theme based welcome activity, ABC circle time, movement activities, scripture lesson, snack, arts and crafts, free play, math, and speech (language and communication). During the second lesson, we also bring in a book that relates to our weekly theme.
Tips for success:
- We want teaching to be easy, so we explain the whole process for how you might want to teach the lessons. This is a starting point. DO NOT feel like you have to teach everything or teach it just as it is written to be a success. Pick and choose based on your child’s level and interest and adapt to your child.
- You don’t need to print everything. Only print the printables you are using. You can use a device to look at the lesson outline while you are teaching. Many of the printables are also offered in black and white as an ink saving option.
- Pick a time that your child is more likely to be ready to learn. A good time for most kids is right after breakfast. Experiment to see what works best for you.
We completely believe in you! You can teach your child at home.
When you use this lesson we would love a tag on social media. We are on Instagram and Facebook.
Love you mamas!
